Blue Sapphires Beryllium Heated

Picture

What are beryllium heated sapphires, does Kaisilver provide the option for these sapphires and are they cheap. A very long time ago gem manufacturers learnt that, heating sapphires and rubies improved their color and clarity. As time went by and these gems became rarer, many more treatments began to be implemented to improve their appearance. Some of them reduced the durability of the the gems and others provided only a temporary improvement in appearance. The first heating process consisted only of an oven, sapphires and the generation of heat. It was then found that adding beryllium to the heating process brought about an even better improvement in terms of color and clarity, the term 'beryllium heated sapphires' was coined to describe sapphires treated with this treatment.

If you had to compare untreated blue sapphires, conventionally heated sapphires and beryllium heated sapphire gems - and work with gems that were similar in 'appearance' - untreated sapphires would be the most expensive followed by, conventionally heated sapphires and then would be the beryllium heated blue sapphire gems. So then, beryllium heated blue sapphire gemstones cheap, the answer is an emphatic no. While these stones can be substantially cheaper than, sapphires heated the old way they still command a good prices. Depending on the shape, size, color and carat weight of beryllium heated blue sapphire gems, the price can range from 400 U.S$ to 1,700 U.S$ per carat. Colors are valued in a similar to what you would see in untreated or heat treated sapphires. Colors that are in the 'ceylon sapphire' range are placed at the higher end of the price line.
